22 nd Anniversary of SCoFA

The 22nd Anniversary of Sirjana College of Fine Arts was celebrated amidst a gala ceremony in the presence of Hon’ble Basanta Kumar Manandhar, Member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly as the 
Chief Guest.
On that occasion, the College honored veteran tabala artist Dankan Das Chaudhary for his outstanding contributions as a faculty member of the Department of Music and Dance.
In addition, the toppers of class XII of 2022 were awarded with DR. SUMITA RAJYA LAXMI SINGH AND LYNSEY STORER AWARD. The recipients of the award were: Arushi Adhikari and Akshyat Man Tamrakar. Each of the awardee was awarded with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00.
Similarly, SUSHILA-ANANTAMANI DIXIT SCHOLARSHIP was presented to Ayushma Pradhan of Class XI and Arushi Adhikari of Class XII. Each of the awardee was awarded with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the meritorious students of the Class of 2021 with highest scores in Board Exam of the Final Year of the Bachelor level (BFA) were also awarded with respective honors. The name of the awards and the recipients are as follows:  
-    UTTAM KHAREL MEMORIAL AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00 to each two students was awarded to Biwek Lama for topping among the boy-students and Namrata Shrestha for topping among the girl-students in the Department of Painting. 
-    UTTAM KHAREL MEMORIAL AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00 was awarded to 
Nilesh Shakya for topping in the Department of Sculpture. 
-    LIONS MANRAM FOUNDATION AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00 to each two students was awarded to Roshan Shakha for topping among the boy-students and Deepa Panthi for topping among the girl-students in the Department of Graphic Communications. 
-    NIRAULA KATHMANDU CAPITAL LIONS CLUB AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00 to each two students was awarded to Prakash Bikram Giri for topping among the boy-students and Palistha Maharjan for topping among the girl-students in the Department of Music and Dance.
-    PARMESH KANT ADHIKARI PRINTMAKING AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00 was awarded to Rojan Khadka for his outstanding performance in Printmaking subject.
-    SCoFA OUTSTANDIG STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD with a cash prize of NPR 20,000.00 was awarded to Biwek Lama for securing highest marks among all the students of the Class of 2021.
During the anniversary function, three of the outstanding research articles written by the Fine Arts students were awarded with BAI-NI KALĀ LEKHANA PURAŚKĀRA, 2080 BS. Titles of the awarded articles and the authors are as follows:
-    Gorkha Soldiers and Ex-rebels in Painting: A Study of the Aesthetics of Human Agency – authored by Biswo Raj Parajuli, PhD student, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, TU.   
-    Phenomenology in Nepali Paintings: A Study of the Aesthetics of Human Agency – authored by Jasmin Rajbhandari, PhD student, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, TU. 
-    Umā Maheśvara: An Art of Timeless Continuity – authored by Chandani Joshi, Class of 2022, Sirjana College of Fine Arts. 
Each of the authors was awarded with a cash prize of NPR 10,000.00.
In addition, three distinguished personalities – Hon’ble Basanta Manandhar, Dankan Das Chaudhary and Prakash Sayami were presented with their respective portraits painted by Kuldip Jung Bahadur Gurung (faculty) and Tshitiz Limbu (student, BFA 3rd-Year).
